Meet DJ Johnson
An Owensboro native representing Daviess County with the same values he learned here - faith, family, and hard work.
Stanley DeWayne Johnson - known around Owensboro as DJ - grew up here. He graduated from Apollo High School and Western Kentucky University, studying Communications and Military Science before joining the United States Army.
DJ served more than 11 years in the United States Army, advancing to the rank of Captain. After his military service, he spent time in Washington, D.C. before returning home to Owensboro with his wife of 47 years, Ellen - also an Owensboro native.
Back home, DJ built a successful career as a small business management consultant, helping local businesses across Daviess County thrive, grow, and create jobs.

In the Statehouse
DJ currently serves as State Representative for District 13, where he carries the values of Daviess County to Frankfort every session. His House committee assignments include:
- • Elections, Constitutional Amendments and Intergovernmental Affairs (Chairman)
- • State Government
- • Energy and Natural Resources
- • Veterans, Military, and Public Protection
- • Budget Review Subcommittee on Health and Family Services
- • Public Pension Oversight Board (former Chairman)
At Home
When he's not in Frankfort, you'll find DJ at Bellevue Baptist Church, walking his two dogs Mattie and Cocoa, mentoring kids, cheering on college basketball, or serving on local non-profit boards. Faith, family, and community come first.
